The Limestone County Mitigation Planning Team plays a vital role in safeguarding our communities against the impacts of natural hazards such as floods, tornadoes, wildfires, and drought. The team is responsible for guiding the development, evaluation, and maintenance of the Hazard Mitigation Action Plan—a living document that helps reduce long-term risks to life, property, and our local economy.
While the team convenes at least once annually, effective mitigation planning often requires a deeper level of commitment. This may include participating in hazard risk assessments, helping identify mitigation strategies, and reviewing and updating plan content to ensure it reflects current conditions and priorities. Community involvement is essential to this process.
We are seeking volunteers from across Limestone County—including residents, business owners, nonprofit leaders, and other stakeholders—who are interested in contributing their insights and helping make our communities more resilient.
By volunteering your time and knowledge, you will have the opportunity to shape proactive solutions that protect our families, homes, and critical infrastructure from future hazard events. Whether you can commit a few hours or a few meetings per year, your voice and perspective are valuable.
For more information or to express interest in joining the team, please complete the form below. Together, we can build a safer and stronger future for all who live and work in Limestone County.
